Organization

The GPAST- Gandaki Province academy of Science and Technology presents itself as a fully functional autonomous institution of continuous succession, where the Scientific Coordinator, the Scientific Council and the Executive Committee are the central organs and determinants of the orientation of our activities.

EXECUTIVE COUNCIL

The executive council is the apex body of the GPAST which legislates plans, policies, and strategies required for the efficient management and operation of the academy. The council is also responsible for the approval of assistantships for other institutions. The council also emits opinions and decisions on the proposals of the executive director, such as yearly plans and budgets and setting the criterion for requirements of scientific and technical personnel.

Chaired by the Provincial Minister of Science and Technology, Gandaki Province; the executive council normally meets four times a year at a fixed date, time, and place as decided by the chairperson. The decisions of the council must be approved by most council members and should be officiated by the member secretary of the council i.e. Executive Director of the academy. With a stalemate, the chairperson takes the final decisions. The other members of the council include the Representative of Provincial Policy and Planning Commission Gandaki Province (Science and Technology field), Secretary of Ministry, Representative from Gandaki University (Science and Technology field), and three Representative experts from the field of Science and Technology (minimum one woman).
