Dr. Kapil Adhikari is a faculty of Physics from Prithivi Narayan Campus, Pokhara, Nepal affiliated to Tribhuvan University. He is a computational material scientist passionate about teaching physics and designing low cost research projects on physics and material sciences for undergraduate and graduate programs. Currently he is working as the dean of Science and Technology, Gandaki University, Nepal and as a member of the Executive Council of Gandaki Province Academy of Science and Technology (GPAST).

Mr. Adhikari has obtained Ph.D. in Computational Condensed Matter Physics in the year 2012 from University of Texas, Arlington- Arlington, TX, USA and M.Sc. in Physics in the year 2007 from Tribhuvan University, Kathmandu, Nepal.

His areas of expertise are in teaching physics at undergraduate/graduate level, theoretical and computational nanoscience, learning management systems (LMS) - Canvas and Blackboard, UNIX based high performance computation. Along with this, he owns proficiency in python, FORTRAN, MPI, MATHEMATICA, MATLAB and programs for electronic structure calculations like Gaussian 09, SIESTA, WIEN2k, VASP, CRYSTAL09, and Quantum Espresso suites.

Mr. Adhikari has a long-term research interest in Low cost physics experiments and simulations for undergraduate programs, theoretical and computational studies on polymorphism in molecular crystals, phase transition in crystalline materials, electronic structure and transport properties of nanotubes, nanocones and nano-clusters, Metal-Organic-Frameworks and other nanoporous material.
