Dr. Prayan Pokharel, a chemical ecologist, boasts
a diverse academic background bridging chemistry and biology. He completed his
Bachelor's in Pharmacy from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, India, in 2013, pursued a Master's in Agrobiotechnology from Justus Liebig University
Giessen, Germany, in 2016, and earned
a PhD in Natural Sciences from the University of Hohenheim, Germany in 2022,
marking a progressive academic trajectory.
His research delved into the impact of plant toxins on insects and their defense mechanisms, showcasing his expertise in insect
physiology, behavior, ecological interactions, and analytical chemistry. During
his postdoctoral tenure at the Department of Applied Entomology, University of
Hohenheim, Germany, he concentrated on sustainable agricultural practices. He
focused on reducing chemical pesticide use by exploring the connections between
plant nutrition and insect interactions. Dr.
Pokharel's commitment extends beyond research; he passionately contributes to
science communication through engaging popular science articles.
